The Human Resource Assistant will lead and direct the routine functions of human resources including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The Human Resource Assistant will be instrumental in recruiting, onboarding, and talent management.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintains a clear line of communication with employees; assists them with any concerns
• Maintains human resources records by maintaining application, resumes, and applicant logs. Coordinates, schedules, and communicates physician and APC candidate interviews, tours, and lunches/dinners.
• Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. This includes utilizing social media as a platform for hiring and marketing
• Processes new hires from initial job offer through orientation
• Oversees the daily workflow of the department
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
• Maintains, and conducts annual audits for Certificates of Insurance, I-9, workers compensation, and OSHA logs
• Processes Incident/Injury Reports and submits them to Worker’s Comp and/or OSHA if required. Tracks Light Duty and Lost Time hours. Posts annual OSHA Logs.
• Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
• Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
• Assist with front office in administrative tasks from time-to-time based upon workload and schedule
• Attends at least 2-4 local job fairs a year and works with local tradeshows & technical colleges to create a stream of eligible applicants
