Carpenter/Mold Maker
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lays out pattern on wood stock, dividing pattern into sections according to shape of casting to facilitate removal of precast from mold. Cuts and shapes parts.
- Fits and fastens parts together to form pattern or section.
- Trims, sands, and shapes surfaces.
- Assembles sections and verifies dimensions of complete pattern.
- Seals mold using epoxies, lacquers or polyurethane coating applied by spray, brush or roller.
- Sets up molds according to shop drawings.
EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE: High School Graduate, One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must understand basic blueprint reading.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arm; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and or move more than 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employee is required to wear hard hat, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses at all times when they are working on the floor.
Must be able to lift up to 50#'s on a regular basis, be able to use saws, hand, and power tools, and utilize measuring devices.
Experience: 3-5 years’ experience would be a plus in rough framing, roofing, cabinet maker, or even a guy that has dome some tool and die or manual machining.
Pay starting at $18-$22++ depending on experience
More experience, upwards of $25++
Monday - Friday; 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, OT as required to complete the job or requirements for that day.
