Warehouse Fulfillment Associate
1st shift Monday - Friday
6a-3:30p
$16/hour starting
Job Overview:
The Warehouse Fulfillment Associate is responsible for wrapping pallets for shipping, coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure accurate order processing, and assisting in the loading and unloading of trucks when necessary. This position requires operating machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks and working in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. The Associate must also maintain adequate supplies, ensure proper labeling, and uphold warehouse safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Pallet Wrapping & Labeling:
Operate the pallet wrapping machine to wrap pallets according to specifications.
Clearly label both sides of each pallet with the store name, number of pallets, and correct staging row. Apply all required stickers and labels (e.g., frozen labels, full pallet labels).
Confirm pack slips match customer orders and are correctly labeled for shipment.
Supply Management:
Maintain adequate weekly supply levels (e.g., stretch film, labels, staples, and cardboard). Regularly check and refill the printer with paper, and ensure backup toner and drums are available.
Order Checking & Coordination:
Verify pack slips for completeness and accuracy, ensuring that any abnormal items or issues are noted.
Assist with checking orders for correctness and coordinating with the office if discrepancies arise.
Help order checkers with ensuring customer orders match the correct pack slip details.
Loading & Unloading:
Greet drivers upon arrival and confirm whether they are dropping off or picking up.
Determine the appropriate dock for the driver and provide them with clear instructions.
Ensure the loader/unloader is aware of the driver's assigned dock and task to minimize delays. Assist with loading or unloading trucks as needed, depending on the availability of the loader/unloader.
Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately, including signing and handling Bills of Lading (BOLs).
File signed BOLs promptly in the designated location for proper record-keeping.
LTL/FTL Coordination:
Ensure Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) pallets are wrapped with cardboard and labeled accurately with the customer's name, city, and state, and verify that the pallet numbers and weights are correctly recorded on the pack slip.
Take LTL paperwork to the office for invoice printing and BOL preparation, making copies as needed.
Ensure the correct BOL and invoice are attached to LTL shipments and pallets.
Ensure Full Truck Load FTL pallets are wrapped with plastic and labeled correctly. Inform the loader/unloader that there are mixed pallets for the FTL truck.
Check in full pallets after FTL truck is staged.
Warehouse Maintenance & Safety:
Clean the pallet wrapping area daily and perform weekly maintenance, such as blowing out the pallet wrapper.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed, working carefully around other employees and maintaining a safe workspace.
Report any incidents, safety concerns, or equipment damage.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
Comfortable working in non-climate-controlled environments (similar to outdoor temperatures).
• Equipment Proficiency:
Ability to operate an electric pallet jack and forklift (certification preferred).
• Experience:
Prior warehouse experience is preferred, especially in a pallet wrapping or order fulfillment role.
• Other Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Flexibility to work overtime and variable hours is required.
Basic knowledge of order management and shipping processes.
Work Environment: The warehouse environment can be dusty and is not climate-controlled, meaning it can reach temperatures similar to the outside weather. Employees must be prepared to work in these conditions for extended periods
