Responsibilities

  • Measure and cut glass to specified dimensions using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Install glass panels in windows, doors, and skylights, ensuring proper alignment and secure fitting.
  • Replace broken or damaged glass in existing structures, minimizing disruption to clients.
  • Prepare surfaces for glass installation, including cleaning, sealing, and framing as necessary.
  • Consult with clients and architects to determine design specifications and requirements for glazing projects.
  • Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment to prevent accidents and injuries during glass handling and installation.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a glazier or in a related position within the glass industry.
  • Strong knowledge of glass types, properties, and installation techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina for handling large glass sheets and performing installations at heights.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in glass handling and installation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
