Job Full Description
The Maintenance Technician will oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the machines, building and grounds. The role includes implementing and executing preventative maintenance programs and performing or coordinating repairs of mechanical, electrical, and other systems as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and perform a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose machine and equipment issues to determine the most cost-effective repair solutions.
- Oversee and coordinate all repairs, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
- Interact with vendors to secure parts, equipment, and instructions for repairs and installations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to 5S principles and safety regulations.
- Repair electrical or mechanical equipment to ensure in good, working condition at all times
- Install, align and balance new or moved equipment
- Direct and supervise part-time summer help in grounds and building maintenance activities.
- Repair buildings, floors, and stairs.
- Ensure safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, OSHA standards, and fire safety regulations, are followed.
- Occasionally travel to other company locations, such as Indiana, to assist with similar maintenance needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building and mechanical maintenance.
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and schematics.
- Project management skills with a focus on organization and efficiency.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong math, measuring, and evaluation skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or within a team.
- Understanding of safety rules and compliance, including OSHA and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Manual dexterity and ability to work with tools and machinery.
- Must supply own basic tools.
- Willingness to work any shift, including overtime, and be on call 24/7.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic electrical repair and installation experience.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to direct and guide part-time staff effectively.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel to assist with maintenance at other locations.
- Availability for overtime and shift work as required.
