Job Full Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Control Clerk to join our produce company. The Inventory Control Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper stock levels, and supporting efficient inventory management processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Hours: 2am-10:30am Mon-Fri and every other Sunday
Will train 7am-3:30pm Mon-Fri for roughly 8 weeks and then move to a 2am start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Inventory Levels: Regularly check inventory levels of produce items to ensure accurate stock counts and prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, returns, and adjustments.
- Inventory Audits: Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter inventory data into the company’s inventory management system, ensuring timely updates and consistency.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming produce shipments for quality, ensuring that all items meet company standards and specifications.
- Stock Rotation: Implement and monitor stock rotation practices to minimize spoilage and waste, ensuring the freshness of produce.
- Reporting: Generate regular inventory reports and provide insights on inventory levels, trends, and potential issues to management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the purchasing, receiving, and sales departments to coordinate inventory activities and address any discrepancies or issues.
- Compliance: Ensure all inventory control processes comply with company policies and industry regulations, including food safety standards.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve inventory-related issues, such as miscounts, damaged goods, or data entry errors, in a timely manner.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that inventory control equipment, such as scales and scanners, is properly maintained and calibrated.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Previous experience in inventory control, preferably in a produce or food industry setting.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving produce items.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling regulations is a plus.
Working Conditions:
