Position Title: Machine Maintenance Technician

Express is seeking a skilled Machine Maintenance Technician to join our team and help us maintain our standards of excellence.
Job Summary: The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment used in our food co-packing operations. This role ensures that all machines operate efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and supporting production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
- Repair and replace defective parts, components, and systems.
- Ensure repairs are completed promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Equipment Optimization:
- Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new machinery and equipment.
- Modify equipment to improve performance and reliability.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Ensure machinery and equipment meet safety standards and compliance requirements.
- Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the Maintenance Manager.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Prepare and submit maintenance reports as required.
- Utilize maintenance management software to track and document work orders.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Provide technical support and training to machine operators as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in machine maintenance, preferably in the food co-packing or food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varying temperature environments typical of food processing facilities.
