Job Summary:
- A Mold Repair Technician is responsible for maintaining the integrity and functionality of injection molds used in manufacturing processes. The job functions encompass a variety of tasks, including inspecting molds for damage or wear, disassembling components for closer examination, and diagnosing issues affecting production.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities, Including but not limited to;
· Works with production departments to prioritize tool repairs and revisions.
· Conduct repairs, revisions and the creation of new tool and fixtures as required.
· Check in tooling from vendors and communicates with appropriate internal personnel.
· Coordinates transfer of tooling
· Requisitions supplies as needed.
· Performs in-house mold modifications.
· Provides production ready mold, in accordance with scheduling requirements.
· Participate and offer input to corrective and preventive action and continuous improvement projects.
· Assures safe storage of customers’ tooling and fixtures.
· Cleaning and light repair of injection molds.
· Performs preventive maintenance on all tooling and tool/fixture build.
· Repairs and replaces defective parts.
· Sets up shop tools and equipment.
· Keeps accurate maintenance records and insures that all revisions to tools are properly recorded.
- Support and comply with all ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14000 Policies, Procedures, SOP’s, Work Instructions as they apply to the job classification or specifically assigned job and complete as directed all required training related to these standards.
· Adheres to all safety procedures.
· Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Keeps work area clean of debris.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
Two-year degree from a vocational technical school in Machine Tool technology program and/or 5 years’ experience as a Mold Repair Technician in a manufacturing environment with injection molding processes.
Requirements:
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently
- Occasional repetitive motion and grasping
- Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
- Typically sits, grasps items or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection
