Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Urethane Operator. In this position you will be operating and maintaining the equipment used to produce polyurethane parts. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret blueprints, utilize measuring tools with precision, and safely operate machines.
Schedule: Mon-Thurs, 5:00am-3:00pm
Wage: $17.00 / hour
Machine Operation:
- Setting up and operating urethane processing machinery, such as mixing and dispensing units, molding presses (compression, injection, or casting), and curing ovens.
- Monitoring machine parameters like temperature, pressure, and flow rates to ensure proper operation and product quality.
- Making necessary adjustments to machinery to optimize performance and meet production specifications.
- Troubleshooting basic machine malfunctions and performing minor repairs or adjustments.
- Following work instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
Material Handling and Preparation:
- Handling and preparing raw materials, which typically include isocyanates and polyols, and various additives.
- Accurately measuring and mixing chemical components according to specific formulations.
- Loading and unloading materials and finished products.
- Ensuring proper storage and handling of chemicals and materials in accordance with safety regulations.
Quality Control:
- Inspecting finished parts for defects such as bubbles, voids, incorrect dimensions, or surface imperfections.
- Using measuring tools and equipment to verify that parts meet quality standards and specifications.
- Monitoring and recording production data, including material usage, processing parameters, and quality checks.
- Identifying and reporting any quality issues or deviations from specifications.
Safety and Maintenance:
- Adhering to all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks on equipment, such as cleaning and lubricating.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
