Franchisee/Owner (Maryland Heights, MO; Saint Louis, MO; Saint Peters, MO)

Amy Barber started her career at Coca-Cola where she worked in sales for five years gaining business-to-business sales experience. She then worked for Western Union as a Key Account Manager for three years, gaining experience in large grocery/retail headquarters. Amy joined her parents, Barb and Dick Barber, at Express in 1994. They purchased their first Express office in 1992 in Maryland Heights, MO, and subsequently purchased two additional franchises in the St Louis, MO, metro area—St Louis in 1996 and St. Peters in 1999. Amy focused on leading the sales initiatives until 2006 when she embarked on a five-year transition plan to purchase the offices from her parents. Barb and Dick remained involved in the business until 2019. Barb handled associate payroll responsibilities, while Dick assisted with Workers' Compensation and general administration tasks.

In 2021, Amy's son, Joe, joined Express as a Business Development Representative. By the end of 2023, Joe had excelled, ranking as the number 17 Sales Representative. He has since taken on a leadership role, managing the sales efforts across the family’s franchises. Additionally, in 2022, Amy's eldest son Jack joined Express, focusing on office services, and helping lead the internal teams. Dick passed away in 2022 and leaves an amazing legacy: Express has been included on numerous St. Louis Business Journal lists as one of the fastest growing companies and largest woman owned businesses in the St. Louis area. Amy believes in the Express mission to help as many people find good jobs with good companies. Today, we are helping over 200 companies in the St. Louis metro area find great people to hire.
