Rod and Lynn Coburn are the owners of Express Employment Professionals in Livonia and Taylor, Michigan. They continuously finish in the top 20% of all Express franchises and are awarded the company's prestigious "Circle of Excellence" award. Their Office Services division ranks in the top 3% for all of Express and is in the top three in their region. They recently celebrated their 10th Anniversary with Express Employment Professionals.
Rod Coburn, Owner/Operator
Prior to Express, Rod's professional background includes a successful track record in a variety of sales, manufacturing operations, and management positions during his 25 year career with Parker Hannifin. Rod's most recent position with Parker was Business Unit Manager that had direct reports that was responsible for Program Management, Application and Product Engineering, Sales and prototype/sample shop.
Rod's other notable position at Parker included Operations Manager for 4 years for a high volume powder metal facility that employed over 450 people. He managed the entire facility that included manufacturing, manufacturing engineering and the newly initiated lean activities.
Rod Coburn's areas of expertise include effective management skills, strategic planning, sales, marketing and operations. In his 24 year tenure at Parker Hannifin, a fortune 200 company, he has held various positions in sales, marketing, management and operations. He is currently the Global Market Development Manager of the Mobile Climate Systems Division. His knowledge within the Automotive Original Equipment and aftermarket segments has helped him be successful in developing a diverse customer base for his Division. Rod managed aftermarket sales, air conditioning bulk hose sales and was an OE account sales managers before moving into operations.
He has gained experience in manufacturing operations while responsible for a facility of over 250 people and $30 million in sales in powder metal products. For the past eight years Rod has been charged with managing sales and program management teams at their Troy, Michigan location which is responsible for over $150 million in sales. the Rod has served as a board member of the SAE - IMAC team which introduced new refrigerant emissions standards mobile air conditioning market.

Lynn Coburn, Owner/Operator
Lynn has worked in the private, public and non-profit arena for notable organizations such as Coors Brewing Company and as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington D.C. and in economic development for MidTown Cleveland.
Her background in business and economic development helps her understand the competitive environment companies operate in, and their need to encourage the development of a skilled workforce.
Lynn has a strong philanthropic background, believing in the importance of giving back to the community. She is a cofounder of Mary's Mantle, a home and program for pregnant, homeless women and a Board Member for Faith@Work in Troy. Lynn also serves on the Board of Governors for Schoolcraft College Foundation and serves on the Executive Committee as Secretary. As a Foundation member, Lynn pursues her passion for workforce development by co-chairing the Future of Work and Education committee. As an annual staff event, their team volunteers at Gleaner's food bank in a program called "Brand It Blue". They also support the Westland Goodfellows Inc "No Child Without Christmas" program.
Lynn is a graduate of Northwood University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She has a dual major in Marketing and Management and an associate's degree in Advertising. She is a strong believer in continuous education recently completing a two year leadership program through Express Leadership Academy.
Lynn and Rod have been married for 28 years and business partners for 10 years. They and their three children enjoy skiing, boating and traveling.
