Mayra Garcia began her career in the Staffing industry at the age of 16 as a Front Office Coordinator. Very early on in her career, she developed an affinity for the industry as she saw how it could help play a direct role in fulfilling her life's calling- helping others and transforming people's lives.

Over the span of her 25-year career in the Staffing industry, Mayra has worked and lead high producing teams with some of the most prestigious staffing firms throughout Southern California. After joining Express Employment Professionals in 2015 she quickly doubled the business and has taken our local offices serving the North LA and Ventura Counties to one of the Top 10 in the entire 850 Express franchise office network worldwide for multiple years. Among her many accolades, Mayra was honored twice with the prestigious "40 Under 40" award by the Conejo Chamber of Commerce and the Pacific Business Coast Times in 2019.

Through her personal and professional achievements, the power-house has never lost sight of her humble beginnings and is always looking for the next opportunity to help those in need. Mayra's desk has also become well known as the "Second Opportunity Desk" where she has taken associates in recovery who need the hand-up in their journey toward turning their lives around to be valuable and contributing members of our community. Some of our greatest success stories have come from her associates and many of our clients have hired and promoted them within their organizations.

Aaron has been a part of our Express Oxnard team since November 2013. Aaron started in the Business Development Manager role before being promoted to VP of Business Development and Marketing in 2018. Aaron has made the "Top 50 Sales Reps" list for 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020! He has also won the "Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce's 40 Under 40 Award" for 2018. Aaron stays active in the Community serving as a Board Member for the Western Ventura County Employer Advisory Council and was in the 2019 Class of the Conejo Leadership Academy. Aaron's favorite part of the job is learning about clients goals and helping them with their workforce challenges along with managing his team of sales and marketing reps. In his free time Aaron enjoys the local hiking trails with his wife, staying active and rooting on the LA sports teams.

In September 2019, we welcomed Isabel Jacobo to the Express family. So far, Isabel has proven to be the type of person who never backs down from a challenge and aims to be an asset to everyone around her. She is also one of the most compassionate people you will ever meet, as well as someone who is fair and kind to everyone she meets. In tow, Isabel brings with her years of experience working in private and public corporate HR and Administrative companies, across a variety of industries.

A Texas Native, Isabel relocated to Ventura in the summer of 2016 with her son and fiancé after he took a position with the Ventura City Fire Department. Although Texas will always be home, California has claimed a special place in Isabel's heart.

When Isabel is not at work, she loves to spend time with her family, their dog, and their two guinea pigs. Her personal hobbies include baking, dancing, fitness, shopping, and hiding her Amazon packages from her fiancé! She also loves to watch football, as any good Texan would, as well as baseball and basketball. A total foodie, Isabel is always trying out new restaurants in the Ventura County and LA areas. Be sure to offer some suggestions if you stop by the office and see her!

Elizabeth's favorite thing about working for Express Employment Professionals is working with such a wide variety of excellent people. She also enjoys making a difference in people's lives throughout the community. 

Elizabeth is the 2023 Ambassador Chair for the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce. In 2020, she was nominated as Ambassador of the Year, and in 2022 was the Ambassador of the Quarter. Elizabeth was also rewarded the Community Service Award by the Simi Valley Community Council. 

 

When she's not at the office, Elizabeth enjoys hanging out with friends, teaching Sunday School, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys participating in community service-related activities and is excited to participate in our next upcoming Brand It Blue Initiative.

• She is a twin and was 2 pounds and 9 ounces at birth. 
• She auditioned before Debbie Allen for the Acadamy Awards when she was little, and her dance teacher was Patsy Swayze.
• Elizabeth is a triple threat and can sing, dance, and act! 

In March 2021, we welcomed Troy to the team as one of our Employment Specialists, focusing on Office Services job orders for our clients. As a person, Troy is known to be friendly, laid back, understanding, and optimistic. Since joining Express, he has proven to be all of those things and more, displaying a service-minded attitude and a deep enthusiasm for helping our Ventura County job seekers get back to work.

Troy was born and raised here in Thousand Oaks, where he grew up playing sports, being active, and ultimately participating in anything outdoors-related. Before Express, he worked for another staffing company in Los Angeles but is excited to be back in his hometown. When he's not actively impacting other people's lives through his work with Express, you can find Troy spending time with his wife, going fishing, playing baseball, going snow skiing, or water skiing.

Express Ventura County welcomed Vivian to the team on June 21st, 2021. Vivian is in charge of guiding our job seekers and associates through the interview process, over the phone or in person. As an employee, Vivian is outgoing, always happy, an incredible problem-solver, and exceptionally optimistic. Before joining the Express family, Vivian worked at a pharmacy, as a coach, at a grocery store, and for a popular fast-food restaurant.

Vivian was born and raised in Oxnard, California. When she's not conducting interviews, you can find her taking walks on the beach, going on hikes, and having a good time with her friends and family.

We welcomed Jeanessa to our Thousand Oaks team in February 2020 and then to our Oxnard team in September 2022 as an Employment Specialist. As a person, she is best described by those who know her as a funny, outgoing person who loves a new challenge. As an employee, she tries to do more than, expected and communicate effectively. She always has a smile on her face, a positive attitude, and makes everyone feel comfortable.

Jeanessa was born and raised in Oxnard, where she still resides. Before she started working at our office, she worked as a Project Manager. When she's not hard at work connecting job seekers with our local clients, Jeanessa enjoys being a full-time mom to a feisty three-year-old who is involved in activities like softball and gymnastics. Jeanessa also enjoys playing softball and watching dodger games during baseball season.

 

Kathy was hired on as our Safety Risk Specialist on November 26th, 2017 and has found that meeting clients and working with them on their safety practices, as well as working with our associates to help them get back to work are two of her favorite things about her job. She is described by coworkers as passionate, honest, dedicated , and a "people person" by nature. Kathy takes her job very seriously and always does whatever it takes to get the job done the right way.

Kathy has over 25 years of Human Resource experience. Her staffing Industry experience has been established over 13 years with 6 of those years working with a PEO and gaining more safety/risk experience while managing a staffing company. Her 12 years of experience working in worker's compensation and safety has made Kathy a valued addition to our staffing team!

A native to the Ventura County area, Kathy moved to Los Angeles to attend Mount St. Mary's University and earn a BA in Business Analysis and a minor in English, and she remained living there for over 8 years. She also lived in Pittsburgh, PA for a short time before moving back to Ventura County and living in Moorpark for the past 23 years.

Kathy has been working on her SHRM certification, having previously been a member, and volunteers at her local church. When she's not working in the office, or generously volunteering her time to our community, Kathy can be found spending time with any of her 10 godchildren or cooking foods from her Mom's family recipes.

One of the things that attracted Jeorgina to Express Employment Professionals is how we take care of our employees but still find time to have a fun and respectful work environment. 

Some accomplishments Jeorgina is most proud of are starting as a cashier at her previous job and becoming a supervisor in just a couple of months, buying a house, and acquiring her GED. 

In her spare time, Jeorgina loves traveling, hiking, and ziplining! 

Jessel loves working at Express because of the atmosphere, company culture, and, most notably, the opportunity to help our clients and associates. Some of her most significant accomplishments are owning a barbershop at 24 and becoming a homeowner at 27. In high school, Jessel's Make-a-Wish was granted to her. 

In her free time, Jessel enjoys taking her two kids to practice sports activities such as softball, baseball, football, and boxing. She also enjoys going on hikes and adventures. 

Some aspects David loves the most about working for Express: are the positive company culture, the opportunity to help others, the stability this kind of work brings, and, most importantly, the two breakrooms with lots of snacks and sodas!

• Having earned his A.S. in Economy in 2020
• Having earned his B.S. in Accounting from California Lutheran University in 2020
• Having been awarded I.G.E.T.C.I/CSU Certificate Award in 2009
• Having become a Certified Mentor for the Grizzly Youth Acadamy in Camp San Luis Obispo in 2005 (Special Clearance)
• The 1996 Channel League Batting Title (22-game hitting streak, every single game that season) avg. .417

 

In his spare time, David enjoys reading business periodicals such as the Economist and the Wall Street Journal, lifting weights, listening to hip-hop/rap and down-south music, continuing to further his education, spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants in LA and Ventura County, and participating in various other physical activities such as jogging/running, and martial arts.

Some of Monica's favorite things about working for Express are the environment and the collaboration among the team. She is community-focused, sarcastic, funny, and fair-minded, but she most profoundly cares about people, especially those closest to her. 

Family is essential to Monica and getting the chance to get together with friends and family for a "Carne Asada" is one of the things she enjoys most in her life, along with movie nights, going on vacation, exploring new places, and trying out new foods. One of the biggest focuses of Monica's life is raising her children with good moral values and leading by example.
