London Express Employment Professionals Helps Fight Hunger
LONDON, ONTARIO - June 20, 2016 The
London Express Employment Professionals office was one of more than 235 Express
franchise locations from California to North Carolina to Canada that came
together recently at local food banks and pantries across North America to help
fight hunger—a growing epidemic that impacts millions of people in the U.S.,
Canada and around the world every day.
On
Saturday, June 11, offices spent time working and serving at their local food
banks, pantries and other nonprofit organizations. In London Ontario, the
Express office collected more than 2,700 pounds or $5,500 worth of non-perishable
food through food drives that were held leading up to the day of service. The
Express team also volunteered their time on June 11th, sorting food
at the London Food Bank.
“As
we focus on putting people to work, we’re also excited to volunteer and serve people
in need in our community,” said Mike Elliott, London Express franchisee.
“We
were especially thrilled to see the impact our efforts made toward helping
children and families find a meal this summer,” Elliott said. “This was a great
time to bring families together and show what it looks like to give back.”
Express Employment Professionals in London has been a Corporate Partner with the City of London and the London Food Bank for the past three years. In total, the London office has collected over 35,000 pounds of food for the London Cares Curb Your Hunger Food Drive.
In
the past four years, Express offices across North America have donated more than 265,000 meals to
nonprofit organizations across North America through their efforts for Brand It
Blue Day.

About Express Employment Professionals and Express in Canada
The London Express Employment Professionals franchise began operation as Contact Personnel in 1979 and serves the London and surrounding communities with temporary help and direct hire employees in a variety of fields, including administrative, commercial, technical, skill trades, engineering, and more.
Express is on a mission to put a million people to work annually. With offices in the U.S., Canada and South Africa.
When the London Food Bank was first started, co-directors Jane Roy and Glen Pearson determined that it should be largely volunteer run and fully transparent to the community at large. Now in its 28th year, the food bank continues to flourish specifically because of its great volunteers, a committed staff, and a community that continues to donate more supplies year after year. The London Food Bank is an important part of this functioning city and we invite you to explore more of how we function and who we serve.
